Stephan Hammel co-hosts The Measures Taken, a podcast about the history of Marxism. He is also Assistant Professor of Music at the University of California, Irvine. His work has appeared in Twentieth-Century Music and the International Review of the Aesthetics and Sociology of Music. He is currently finishing a monograph entitled The Materialist Conception of Music History.
